Summer Opener: A Social Hike | June 7

Hi there,

Thank you so much for registering. We are so happy you're joining us to kick off summer together. We'll be guided by the awesome Viktorija, an avid hiker from our community who's now diving into the world of orienteering

Below you'll find everything you need to know before the big day. Read it through, save it, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Time. June 7 (Sunday), 11 AM. The hike itself takes about 2 hours, and we’ll have a picnic midway, so prepare for around 3 hours of fun!

The route. We’ll be tracking through Bukčiai Forest Park in the South West of Vilnius:

Starting and finishing point: Rimi shopping center (Šiltnamių st. 21, Vilnius).

Feel free to explore the trail and how it looks like in person here.

What to bring?

If the skies are clear, here's how to prepare:

  • Sunscreen: apply before and bring a top-up

  • Water: at least 1 litre, more if it's warm

  • A hat: to protect you from the sun

  • Bug and tick repellent spray: a must in Lithuanian forests

  • Snacks: bring something you'd love to share. There will be a joint picnic midway through the hike, so think: something you'd happily pass around to a group of new friends

  • A picnic mat or anything you’d like to sit on

  • Comfortable, closed-toe shoes suitable for trails

If it’s rainy, keep in mind:

  • Bring an umbrella or a lightweight raincoat

  • Waterproof or water-resistant shoes

  • Layers: temperatures could drop when it's wet

  • Your adventurous spirit

Other notes:

  • A bathroom will be available at the start/finishing point of the hike at the Rimi shopping center (please note, you’ll need a 0.5 Euro coin to enter).

  • Established bathrooms won’t be available through the hike.
